About the Role:
We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our innovative and dynamic team on a permanent part-time basis. Based at our brand-new Cancer Centre in The Bays, Mornington, this role reports to the Nurse Manager and is responsible for providing the delivery of nursing care to patients receiving Radiotherapy.
As a Registered Nurse at Icon, working alongside the multidisciplinary team, your role is to provide outstanding patient-centred care and achieve optimal healthcare outcomes for oncology patients. You will be responsible for supervising and delegating to other health care professionals as required. Care will be provided in accordance with the patient’s physical, psychological, emotional, social, and spiritual wellbeing. You will utilise available resources, promote and participate in all national standards and quality activities.
Whilst Radiation Oncology / Medical Oncology experience is highly favourable, we also encourage applicants with experience/skills in high acuity settings, immunocompromised patient care, wound management, and/or palliative care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute advice and demonstrate contemporary nursing knowledge and skill in oncology nursing practice in accordance with current legislation and professional standards and codes of practice
- Support the Nurse Manager in the day-to-day operations
- Support a high-performance culture that delivers quality patient care services through a patient centric and collaborative approach
- Assess the healthcare needs of patients and formulate, implement, and evaluate a plan of care in partnership with the patient
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with all disciplines, other departments, and the wider professional community
- Actively participate in identifying areas of nursing practice where improvements can be made to the quality of nursing care
- Commit to ongoing professional development of self, other staff, and the profession

Skills & Experience:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Radiation Oncology Nursing experience (highly desirable)
- Ability to apply excellent communication and problem-solving skills with both patients and colleagues.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining good working relationships.
- Ability to apply critical thinking skills to complex, time sensitive issues.
- Genuine interest in cancer care nursing and professional development within this space.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively use Electronic Medical Records.
- Commitment to learning and continual professional development
